Tom Bell

Tom was born in Newark, Nottingham in 1973. He first began working professionally as an illustrator around the mid nineties and started out working freelance for small independent graphic design studios in and around Nottingham. In 2001 he began working for an animation studio called Freakish Kid as a concept artist, working in conjunction with clients such as The Cartoon Network and Nickleodeon providing backgrounds and character designs for a project known as ‘the Phantom’. In 2003 he took a job with a design wear label called Purple Om/Random ltd working as a print designer and illustrator. During his time there and working under the name Tomb he provided paintings, patterns, illustrations and prints for their menswear collection. This also included an exclusive hand painted collection of leather biker jackets, hand painted t-shirt and sweatshirt designs for Harvey Nichols. Other Purple Om/Random collaborations he has been involved with include - Levi, Religion (Buddhist Punk), Griffin, D.I.E. (denim is everything) Based in the UK he is again working freelance as a print designer and illustrator, “As an Artist I work with what I find and how I feel”
